This course examines the legal and ethical complexities involved in delivering services to victims, their families, and communities, with a focus on victims' rights from within social justice perspectives. Students will critically explore concepts such as duty to report, documentation, witness stance, court testimony, advocacy, referrals, confidentiality, professional ethics, and institutional accountability. The course aims to enhance professional standards, safety protocols, enhancing service provision, and address systemic practices to better support victims while promoting dignity and human rights.
