This course offers a comprehensive and critical examination of the intersection between violence, victimization, gender, and sexual diversity. Through the critical analysis of key concepts such as identity, power, equity, anti-oppression, reflective practice, and cultural humility, students will learn to address victimization related to sexual orientation and gender identity. They will develop the knowledge and skills to provide trauma-informed, and intersectional services to victims. The course is grounded in an anti-oppression and decolonization framework, equipping students with the tools for effective interventions to support those at risk.
