Course Code: WORK 209
Academic Year: 2025-2026
The Fitness and Health Promotion Experiential Learning course provides practical experiences for students to apply previous learning to a work environment. This course provides students the opportunity to practice and develop their skills in key areas of fitness and lifestyle management such as customer service, fitness assessment, counselling, and coaching clients one-on-one to meet their fitness and healthy lifestyle goals. Students meet twice per week as a class and meet regularly throughout the semester with a client assigned to them from the Humber community. One weekly class meeting will serve as a forum for discussion, problem solving, and career exploration and the other weekly class takes place in an exercise training lab.
