The course provides practical experiences for students to apply previous learning within a sector of the hospitality industry. The field experience encourages students to apply skills and implement knowledge learned in the classroom to the needs of the current workplace. Students will have an industry professional as their mentor and will be provided with a practical, applied, and experiential learning opportunity. The Hospitality - Hotel & Restaurant Operations Management field experience will present the student with a variety of opportunities to select from a broad range of leading hotels, resorts, food and beverage operations as well as other sectors of the hospitality and tourism industry. The field experience requires students to work a minimum of 24 hours per week for 12 weeks.
