Pre-requisite: MEP. 474 Advanced Contemporary Methods of Recording 1
This course will examine advanced issues in audio production technology through lectures, theoretical discussion, demonstrations, practical application and research. Students will work alone and in groups to research and practice various microphone techniques, create enhanced podcasts, participate in listening sessions, keep a journal, and participate in in-class workshops on audio production software. Students will be tested on their knowledge of matering for various delivery media, audio metadata, digital audio technology fundamentals, various audio file formats and codecs used for internet-based audio distribution and the various audio level metering systems. This course is demanding and is recommended for advanced students who are uniquely interested in further study of audio recording, post production and distribution.
