This course provides students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to market themselves to an employer, and to effectively gain rewarding employment using career connections. Job search is an ongoing process, utilized many times over, as careers change and evolve.? This course prepares students to conduct an effective job search in light of today s challenging job market.? The course is meant to address needs of diverse populations (graduates, current students and potential employers) in a flexible, easy-to-access manner. This course also prepares students for a career in the television production field. Topics such as portfolio development, resume writing, networking skills, freelance and self-employment, and career research are covered in this curriculum. Students look at setting up a small business for themselves, as well as exploring the legal and tax implications of such a venture. The course is delivered through a series of lectures, case studies and guest speakers.
