The twenty-first century is challenging Canadians to rethink several key questions concerning how society will be organized and how we can live as one nation. Many f these questions are related to how we want to build our democracy. From questions concerning the future of our health care system, to the ethics of euthanasia, to debates about populist politics and crime and punishment, Canadians are being sked to carefully consider the kind of life that they want to live and the kind of nation they wish to pass on to future generations. In this course we will examine eight significant and controversial questions for Canadians to debate.
