Principles and Practices of Insurance

This course introduces students to risk and illustrates how insurance deals with risk. The course will examine the basic concepts and language of insurance, the legal context of insurance, and the participants in the industry and their relationship to each other. The foundational principles will serve to explain every insurance need as well as explain the provisions of every insurance policy at a broad level. No prior experience or knowledge of insurance is required.
