Acquire the management skills needed as a first-line supervisor, with practical applications taken from common supervisory situations. The focus will be on developing skills relating to the interaction between a supervisor and subordinate; for example, communication, coaching, performance appraisal, motivating, disciplining, and conflict resolution. Another key focus will be on the development of skills relating to the interaction between a supervisor and the organization, including planning, organizing a department, decision-making, team building, controlling and supervision in a diverse workforce.
