Program Overview

The Condominium Management and Administration certificate program is offered in partnership with the Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO). This part-time program has been developed to train you in the physical building management, financial management, human relations and legal aspects of residential condominum management. Theory and examples of day-to-day problems and practices are blended so that you can apply what you have learned. Faculty come from the field and have hands-on experience managing condominiums.

Licensing Information: the four ACMO courses lead to a general license under the Condominium Management Services Act. This Act requires all condominium managers and providers in Ontario to be licensed. For more information on licensing, contact the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO) at www.cmrao.ca.

Note that on November 1, 2021, responsibility for licensing education will transfer to the CMRAO and they will be introducing 6 different courses that will be required for licensing. Notwithstanding this, the aforementioned ACMO courses will continue to be valid education for a licence until October 31, 2022, provided that a person has enrolled in at least one ACMO course and applied for their Limited License before November 1, 2021. If they do this and complete the four ACMO courses by October 31,2022 they will be deemed to have met the education requirement for licensing. Registered Condominium Manager (RCM): the four ACMO courses lead to ACMO’s Registered Condominium Manager’s (RCM) exam, and RCM designation. For more information contact ACMO.

Humber Certificate of Completion: successful completion of the four ACMO courses plus the elective leads to a Certificate of Completion from Humber College.

Admission Requirements: None. Register and pay for courses individually.

Textbooks/Material: A course manual for each course is mandatory. They are not included in the course fee and are available for purchase at the campus bookstore upon proof of registration.

Note: For all online courses, the final exam is virtually proctored by Mohawk College.

Due to COVID 19 all in class sessions are on hold:

  • For all in-class Saturday courses,the first class is 9am-12noon
  • For all in-class courses the last class is a 3 hour final exam - attendance is mandatory.

Online Learning
Online courses are accessible via web browser from anywhere in the world and are well-suited to those who need a more flexible study schedule. How does it work?

  • The online course content is the same as the in-class content
  • Once you receive your User ID and password, you can logon to the online learning management system
  • You will work from a Critical Path which outlines the chapters covered week-by-week
  • You work according to your own schedule, keeping up with the content weekly as laid out in the Critical Path document
  • You will use a Discussion Board, which is an ongoing thread of discussion topics where you are expected to contribute
  • There may be opportunities to “chat” live online with your instructor and class during the course. Dates and times of chat sessions will be posted
  • There are no face-to-face meetings with your instructor or classmates
