Copying Rubrics from Original to Ultra

This resource shows you how to copy a rubric from Blackboard Original into Ultra. For help with copying between Ultra courses, refer to Copying a Rubric in Blackboard Ultra.

You can copying a rubric from Blackboard Original to Blackboard Ultra by exporting a rubric from Blackboard Original and then importing it into Blackboard Ultra.

Important details

After importing a rubric it is extremely important to do a quality check to ensure the rubric functions as desired.

To export a rubric from Blackboard Original:

In the left-hand Course Menu, under the Control Panel, select Course Tools > Rubrics
In Original, locate the rubric you want to export, select the checkbox and select the Export button.
On the export rubric page, select Export to Local Computer and Submit.
Select Download to download the rubric as a zip file.

To import a rubric into Blackboard Ultra:

In the top-right corner of the Course Content area, select More options for course content ellipsis (…) > Import Content.
In the Import Content panel select Import Course Content.
In the Open File window, locate and select the rubric ZIP file you want to import, and then select Open. Blackboard displays an Importing course content message. Blackboard will send an email when the import process is complete.
After the import is complete, you can view and edit the rubric in the Gradebook Settings area.
