Creating a Banner Image for your Course

You may want to create a custom banner image that displays in your course list, and also within your course.

There are many tools you can use to create a banner image, such as Canva and PowerPoint. The example below demonstrates how to use PowerPoint to create a course banner image.

Recommendations:

  • Image size: 1200 x 240 pixels (12.5 x 2.5 inches or 32 x 7 cm)
  • Accessibility: Consider AODA guidelines when creating an image, such as high contrast and san-serif font style.
  • Template: If you are using PowerPoint, as demonstrated in the video, feel free to use this Blackboard Banner Image template that is already sized to recommendation.
