Using Mashups in Blackboard

Mashups is a Blackboard term that refers to posts with elements from two or more sources.  Mashups are a quick way to insert content from some popular external websites. Refer to Humber Libraries Copyright guidelines and resources when choosing and citing this content. Mashups currently available include:

  • Flickr Photo: Link to a site for viewing and sharing photographic images.
  • SlideShare: Link to a site for viewing and sharing PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, or Adobe PDF Portfolios.
  • YouTube: Link to a site for viewing and sharing online videos from YouTube’s platform.
  • Panopto Video: Link to Humber’s video streaming platform.

To insert a Mashup:

  1. Navigate to the content area where you want to place the Mashup.
  2. Select Build Content and, under the Mashups area, select the type of Mashup you want.
