Humber COIL in the News

During Winter Reading Week, a group of eight students from degree programs across the Faculty of Social and Community Services (FSCS), flew to Denmark.

After the launch of Humber Global’s COIL Learning website, the FSCS recently completed two COIL initiatives with two academic partners in Denmark.

Off the back of these successful collaborations last semester, FSCS is happy to be working on more COIL initiatives.

This past winter semester, the Child and Youth Care Diploma program engaged in a COIL Project with Parul University, in India. 

Humber students in the Fashion Management program and degree program worked alongside students from Nottingham Trent University in the Fashion Communications program.

Post-secondary students from around the world will collaborate to find innovative solutions to support pandemic response and post-COVID-19 recovery.

There is no doubt the pandemic has disrupted everyday life, yet it has also provided an opportunity for innovation.

Global Systems Gap Challenge is a six-week virtual team-based experience, that brings together students and mentors from around the world to collaborate on innovative research to foster public good.

The Faculty of Social and Community Services has continued to develop transformative global opportunities for students across a breadth of programming while deepening global academic partnerships.

The 2020 KEA Virtual Design Charrette took place from October 5th to 8th and had Humber students and faculty join others from around the world in the annual week-long event.

COIL is gaining in popularity at Humber, and the Longo Faculty of Business is playing an active role.

In February, Senior Dean Derek Stockley, Stephanie Byer and Rebecca Fitzgerald presented at the Community Colleges for International Development.
