10:00am - 11:30am Getting Started with Blackboard Ultra

In this session, participants will learn about the new Blackboard ULTRA dashboard and course navigation. Participants will learn how to apply the Humber template and create and send announcements and course messages in an ULTRA course. Also, we will look at the main content structures and tools available.

The new Blackboard ULTRA courses will give faculty and students a simpler, more modern, and accessible platform to communicate, collaborate, and learn together. In this session, we will explore the options for building content and learning materials in Blackboard ULTRA.

1:00pm - 2:30pm Take Your Teaching to the Next Level with Microsoft Teams

Join us to learn how to take your teaching to the next level by using the powerful tools and features available in Teams, like video conference, presentation sharing, chat, whiteboard, breakout groups, polls, and reflections. We’ll also explore how to integrate external tools like the Office apps, Forms, Padlet and Mentimeter. Finally, we’ll learn how to take advantage of some of Teams’ accessibility features like subtitles and automatic transcription.

This webinar is designed to guide instructors through the process of creating and managing assignments, discussions, and journals in Blackboard Ultra.

1:00pm - 2:30pm The COSSID Primer for Faculty

This session introduces Humber’s Course Outline Software Supporting Instructional Design (COSSID), the online database for College course outlines. COSSID is being implemented to create a single, easily accessible repository, allowing smoother transitions between pathway programs and enabling quick referencing and/or updating. Join us to learn how COSSID is improving the experience of faculty, staff, and students.

This intermediate session will provide a deeper dive into setting up assessments, utilizing different types of assessments and creating gradable assignments in Blackboard Learn Ultra.
