Accessibility Resources

Check out this Accessibility Checklist from Blackboard for a short and simple guide to accessible course design.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Resources

The best resource for UDL is the CAST website. If you have a bit of time, it is highly recommended that you work through the content on this website. If you are able to apply the principles of UDL effectively, your course will be more accessible, inclusive and learner-centred.

Humber College Innovative Learning

Don’t forget that Humber’s Innovative Learning (IL) exists to help you in developing and teaching your online course. The Innovative Learning website includes help resources on Blackboard Ultra and eLearning and training sessions to support you. IL can also connect you with trained, expert staff who can work with you to support your design and building needs.

A particularly useful page on the IL website is Online Innovative Learning, which covers various useful topics that you may wish to explore in more depth:

  • Introduction to Online Learning
  • Online Design Fundamentals
  • Online Teaching and Learning Activities
  • Educational Technology Tools
  • Building Learning Modules
  • Creating and Curating Content
  • Teach Your Course

Want to talk to someone about your course? Need some further information? Looking for advice on instructional design? Contact IL at innovativelearning@humber.ca.
