Affordable Computer Purchase Program

Renewed Computer Technology (RCT) is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that empowers learners, educators and not-for-profit organizations with increased access to information and communications technology (ICT), skill development and learning opportunities, in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

Working with Humber Polytechnic, they are offering affordable, renewed computer packages.

What you get

Students can purchase a Desktop or a Laptop package. 

Both desktops & Laptops come with Windows 11, MS Office 2019 (Word, Excel PowerPoint Outlook and OneNote) & Learning Software.

Warranty

All systems include RCT's STANDARD 1 YEAR DEPOT WARRANTY. Batteries are not covered by warranty. 

How to fill out your application

Requirements

Applicants must be:

• A resident of Ontario and you are an individual with limited income.
• Parents or legal guardians applying on behalf of a child/youth under the age of 18.

RCT offers 1 computer, per family, with a limit of 2 per household per year.

Deadline

You can begin to apply for a computer on: May 1 st, 2025.

Application deadline: December 17 th, 2025.

Steps

1. Scan QR code OR visit Renewed Computer Technology (RCT).

2. Fill out each section of the application:

   1. Section A

      Group Name: Humber Polytechnic
      Group Code: G-Humber
      Name of School: Please enter the name of your student’s school

   2. Section B

      Please email Alexander Oliver (aoliver@rcto.ca) with proof of income verification. This can be one of the below: 

      1. Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment (most recent)

      2. Ontario Works Statement (Social Assistance)

      3. OSAP Statement of Funding

      4. Refugee Payment Received from government

      5. Letter from school supporting the application

      6. EI Benefit Statement

      7. ODSP (Disability Benefits)

      8. Second Career/Better Jobs

   3. Section C

      I would like to order a laptop, please ship my computer
      to my home ($25.00 shipping fee)

      OR

      I would like to order a desktop, please ship my
      computer to my home ($35.00 shipping fee)

      OR

      I would like to pick up my computer in Mississauga RCT
      Warehouse ($0.00 Shipping fee)

   4. Section D

      Pick your computer package and method of payment.

      You will have the following online payment options when
      completing your order:

      1. Credit/Debit Card
      2. Money Order or Certified Cheque
      3. A Third Party will be Paying (Ex. Ontario Works)

      Certified Cheques should be made to: Renewed Computer Technology

      The applicant's name must be added in the memo field. When you come to
      pick up your computer, please bring a government photo ID.
