Connect to Wi-Fi

Eduroam

Eduroam is a secure, high-speed, wireless, Internet solution available across all Humber Polytechnic and University of Guelph-Humber campuses for use by Humber Polytechnic and Guelph-Humber University students, employees, and guests.

Your Eduroam username is in the format “your-username@humber.ca”. 

Android Device

Ensure your Wi-Fi is turned on for your device

  1. Select the ‘eduroam’ network
  2. Complete the connection configuration as follows: 
     EAP method: PEAP
    1. Identity:  enter your Humber username followed by @humber.ca (example n12345678@humber.ca)
    2. Password: enter your Humber password
    3. CA certificate:  select the option ‘Don’t validate’. If your device is not showing the option ‘Don’t validate’:
      1. Select the option ‘System certificates’
      2. Set the domain to be ‘humber.org’
      3. Leave the field ‘Anonymous identity’ blank
  3. Select ‘Connect’

You will now be connected to Eduroam wireless network. You should not need to re-enter your credentials unless your password is changed. 

*Note: If you have issues connecting to Eduroam, download the getEduroam app. Choose Humber as the institute, enter your username@humber.ca & your password and it should auto-configure your device for you. 

iPhone/iPad Device

  1. Ensure your Wi-Fi is turned on for your device
  2. Go to ‘Settings’ and choose Wi-Fi
  3. Select the ‘eduroam’ network
  4. Enter your Humber username followed by @humber.ca (example n12345678@humber.ca)
  5. Type in your Humber password
  6. Click ‘Join’
  7. Select ‘Trust’ on the certificate prompt 

You will now be connected to Eduroam wireless network. You should not need to re-enter your credentials unless your password is changed. 

Google Pixel Device

  1. Ensure your Wi-Fi is turned on for your device
  2. Select the ‘eduroam’ network
  3. Complete the connection configuration as follows:
    1. EAP method: PEAP
    2. Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    3. CA certificate: select the option ‘Use system certificates’
    4. Online Certificate Status: Do not verify
    5. Domain: humber.org
    6. Leave the field 'Anonymous Identity' blank
    7. Identity: enter your Humber username followed by @humber.ca (example n12345678@humber.ca)
    8. Password: enter your Humber password
  4. Select ‘Connect’ 

You will now be connected to Eduroam wireless network. You should not need to re-enter your credentials unless your password is changed. 

Connecting Eduroam with CAT Tool or GetEduroam App

If connecting with the above steps does not work, you can go to the CAT Tool and select the ‘Click here to download your eduroam installer’. Select Humber from the menu. Click on ‘eduroam’ to download the Eduroam installer. Run the Eduroam installer. You will need to enter your Humber username followed by @humber.ca and your Humber password. Run the downloaded executable and Eduroam will be installed automatically. If you cannot connect automatically, try setting up the connection manually using the information below. 

Or for Android users, you can also go to your Google Play and search for ‘geteduroam’ app and install it on your device. Follow the on-screen instructions and you should be connected to the eduroam. 

Forget the Eduroam Network

If you lose your connection to Eduroam and need to reconnect, follow these steps to reconnect. 

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Connections / Networks
  3. Select Wi-Fi
  4. ‘Forget’ the Eduroam connection by doing: 

Android Users

  1. Cont.
    1. Go to the eduroam network
    2. Click on the Settings icon (a cog / gear)
    3. The click on the Forget icon (a bin) at the bottom of the screen 

iOS Users

  1. Cont.
    1. Select Settings
    2. Select Wi-Fi
    3. Select the eduroam
    4. Select "Forget This Network" 

Google Pixel Users

  1. Cont.
    1. Go to the eduroam network
    2. Click on the Settings icon (a cog / gear)
    3. The click on the Forget icon (a bin) at the bottom of the screen

5. Wait a few moments, reconnect and re-enter your Humber username@humber.ca and password. 

Note: University of Guelph-Humber students can join by following the University of Guelph-Humber Wi-Fi instructions.
