Academic Year
During this internship course, the student works in one or more of the following radio departments: programming, news, promotions, sales, creative, and production or in an approved operation related to radio. The student is treated as an employee and is expected to comply with company and industry requirements. In addition to practising broadcast skills in a real environment, the student starts to build the professional relationships needed to develop a personal network. The internship program is a 160-hour (two-month) apprenticeship in media. Internship requirements and expectations are outlined in the Radio Broadcasting Internship handbook. Either the co-ordinator or the internship committee confirms a placement with a radio station or an associated industry for the student to complete.
