Technical Reading and Writing Skills: ESOL

This course is designed to develop the reading and writing skills that will be required for clear communication in technical fields. Students will learn to write documents that are clear, accurate, and grammatically correct. To help students reach these goals, the course covers the following: analytical reading and critical thinking; summarizing and paraphrasing; strategies for organizing and developing various technical documents; and the elements of clear writing, including grammar and punctuation skills. This course recognizes the developmental nature of English language learners in the college system and supports academic literacy with this group of students.
