Advanced Manufacturing

Certificate of Accomplishment

Program Code: CE0004

Humber College's new RapidSkills, Advanced Manufacturing Micro-credentials program is a timely addition to the college's offerings.

The program was designed for those who were interested in the industry of Advanced Manufacturing, with potential to succeed, but without the necessary skills. It is needed now more than ever to help laid-off, at-risk and underutilized workers in the auto or advanced manufacturing sector transition to new roles and sectors.

Learners who are interested in this program will pay the full fee for the program at the time of registration (note there is no option to register and pay for individual courses)

This program is ideal for those who are currently employed and are looking to upskill their skills in a manufacturing environment, and also those who are seeking work in this area.  Potential roles that this program could assist individuals moving into include:  Machine Operators, Maintenance Staff, and Manufacturing Technicians/Technologists.

There are 30 spots available for the program.  Applicants to the program will need a minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent Math and English level competencies or equivalent to be successful in this program. Those who are currently in the millwright or electrical trades would also meet this requirement.

If you are not sure you meet the math and English requirements for success, please reach out to us at cplappliedtechnology@humber.ca and we can help you figure this out.

The program has been designed to be highly flexible; most courses begin with a self-paced online component which can be done on your time and at the location of your choosing.  Once you have successfully completed the online component, you will be required to complete a hands-on practical component at our Humber North Campus on a specified weekend  (Saturday and Sunday).

Prior to the start of the program, we will be holding an orientation session to provide you with the information to ensure you start on the right track.

A minimum deposit of 50% of the total cost ($2,492.50) will be required to secure your spot in the program.  The full amount of the program must be paid no later than 4 days prior to the start of the first micro-credential course to be able to start the program.  Failure to provide the full amount by the stated date will result in the removal of your seat from the program.

Learners that sign up for the bundle will not be able to drop individual courses, and once the program has begun, they will not get a refund if they decide not to continue with the other courses. Learners must drop the program 2 weeks prior to the start of the program for a refund, minus the $25 drop fee. Learners that drop the program after this time are not entitled to a refund.

Those who complete the program will also be participating in a networking event.  This will be a great opportunity to share your ideas based on your program work with Industry professionals, and for those looking for employment opportunities, an opportunity to network and potentially meet your future employer!
