Humber Students Bring their Creativity to New Innovative Universi-Tea Podcast
One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is witnessing the incredible creativity, innovation, and drive of our students. Recently, I had the pleasure of joining an episode of Universi-Tea, a podcast created by six outstanding 4th year students from Humber’s Digital Business Management program. This experience not only reminded me of the amazing talent within our Humber community but also reinforced why student-driven initiatives like this are essential to the unparalleled experience that we provide at Humber.
The podcast was built on the foundation of storytelling, collaboration, and authenticity. Its creative name, Universi-Tea captures the essence of the podcast perfectly. It is a space where students can have open conversations about their journeys, the challenges they face, and share successes that define their time at Humber. But beyond that, it speaks directly to the experiences of students everywhere. From balancing coursework and part-time jobs to navigating personal growth and what their future may hold, the podcast is looking to explore topics that resonate with all listeners. It is both an outlet for creative expression and a source of comfort and connection for its audience. My appearance on Universi-Tea was a meaningful opportunity to engage in dialogue with these remarkable students. We discussed the future of post-secondary education, our recent name change to Humber Polytechnic, the work we are doing to support our students in achieving their goals, and all that’s in store for Humber’s future.
Above all, what struck me most about Universi-Tea is the incredible showcase of skill and dedication from these brilliant students. The six students behind this initiative – Haris, Amaan, Celeste, Pasindu, Maduwantha, and Syed – exemplify the very best of who we are at Humber. During my time on the podcast, I was deeply impressed by their professionalism, preparation, and ability to create a welcoming, engaging environment for both guests and listeners. Each student brought their unique talents to the project. Whether guiding the discussion, writing thoughtful questions, managing production logistics, or promoting the podcast through innovative digital marketing strategies, this project demonstrates the many ways Humber students are exceling in dynamic and collaborative learning environments.
Universi-Tea is a remarkable example of the creativity and passion that defines Humber’s brilliant students. It demonstrates how a group of dedicated individuals can take an idea and turn it into something impactful, meaningful, and inspiring. Of course, this would not have been possible without the support of the faculty and staff who bring out the best in our students every day. Their dedication to fostering creative and innovative learning experiences has not only enhanced this podcast but has also guided these students in building a sense of confidence, pride, and belonging.
To the Universi-Tea team, I want to thank you for inviting me to be part of your journey. I am so proud of what you have accomplished. What you have created here is not just a podcast – it’s a celebration of student voices, a reflection of innovative excellence, and a shining example of all that can be achieved at Humber.
If you’re looking to tune into Universi-Tea, I highly recommend it. You can access the podcast on its official website or watch episodes on their YouTube channel.
I’m looking forward to tuning into the next episode!
