Looking Back at an Inspiring Week at Humber

As we wrap up a busy week at Humber Polytechnic, I find myself reflecting on the energy, engagement, and brilliance that define our community. This week was a testament to our collective commitment to growth, collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence.

We began the week with an important town hall at our Lakeshore Campus, where we gathered to discuss key updates on budget planning and enrolment implications. These conversations are never easy, but they are necessary. Transparency and collaboration remain at the heart of how we navigate challenges and opportunities together. I was inspired by the thoughtful questions and perspectives shared by our faculty and staff. Their voices shape the future of Humber, and I am grateful for their engagement. I’m looking forward to continuing these discussions at our townhall at North Campus next week.

Furthermore, we also welcomed three outstanding new members to our Board of Governors. Their diverse experiences, leadership, and passion for education will be invaluable as we continue to drive Humber’s mission forward. On that note, I thank the Ontario government for their swift action to address the Board’s vacancies. These appointments ensure that the business of Humber Polytechnic can move forward without delay or distraction. Governance is a cornerstone of our success, and I look forward to working alongside our new board members as we build on our legacy of innovation, excellence and brilliance.

And of course, what better way to close out the week than celebrating the achievements of our Humber Hawks? A huge congratulations to both our Men’s and Women’s Volleyball teams for their victories this week! I had the pleasure of being in attendance, and I was in absolute awe of the skill, dedication, and teamwork on display. Our student-athletes exemplify the very best of what it means to pursue excellence both academically and athletically, and their achievements are a testament to all that it means to be a Humber Hawk.

As we move forward, let’s continue to focus on Humber’s collective future. Our strength lies in our ability to innovate, collaborate, and push boundaries. Through every corner of our campuses, through every hallway, in every classroom, or even on the volleyball court, we are all contributing to a legacy of brilliance in our own unique way.

So, as we close out this week, I encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the role we each play in building brilliance at Humber. Let’s continue to support one another, embrace new opportunities, and strive for a better tomorrow.

Thank you for your dedication, passion, and commitment to the Humber community. Have a wonderful weekend, and here’s to another great week ahead!
