Business Administration

Advanced Diploma

Program Code: 02511

Campus: North, Online

Length: 6 semesters

Humber’s Business Administration advanced diploma program provides in-depth knowledge of how businesses operate and equips you with comprehensive skills essential for managing business functions.

The program includes courses in operations management, accounting, finance, human resource management, strategic management, marketing research, personal finance, and more. These courses offer the opportunity to develop key business skills such as communication, teamwork, project management, and strategic business analysis.

The curriculum is built on a solid business education, covering principles of management, marketing, business law, financial mathematics, and microeconomics. In the first year, this foundational knowledge is shared with other business diploma programs, and in the second year, it is further expanded upon.

There are limited opportunities for students to combine co-operative education with their academic learning in alternating semesters. This optional co-operative education program is structured to include one to two placements between academic terms. Participation in this program may extend the required completion of the diploma by one to three semesters.

The program offers students valuable real-world, program-related work experience, which can help them determine their career path, provide funding for their college education, and increase their chances of securing a desirable job with a higher salary upon graduation. However, participation in co-operative education placements is competitive, and opportunities are not guaranteed. Applications for these placements are only accepted by students after completing Semester 2.

For students who are not selected for cooperative education placements, a standard 84-hour field experience course must be completed in the final semester. A business placement advisor supports students in finding a placement, maintains a list of placement opportunities and offers guidance in developing resumes and job search techniques.
