Campus: Downtown (IGS)
Length: 3 semesters
So, you want to work in advertising. Where can you learn what you need to know to get into the game?
At Humber, the Advertising Copywriting program is your portal into the advertising industry.
Our one-year Ontario Graduate Certificate program helps you develop the skills you need in a dynamic, collaborative format that replicates the business you are about to enter.
Here you’ll get a comprehensive understanding of copywriting, art direction, marketing, branding and strategy development. These skills enable you to create effective communication and advertising solutions across a wide range of media - both emerging and traditional - to build a creative portfolio (adartcopy.com) that reflects the industry standards required for field placement and entry-level copywriter positions.
Our program is offered at the Humber Downtown campus, where, over two intensive semesters, you will partner with students in the Art Direction program to develop a variety of strategic, conceptual and practical skills.
Hands-on in-class learning, live client and agency projects, industry guest speakers, agency tours and more - the Humber Advertising Copywriting program is renowned for being a transformational learning experience.
Work-Integrated Learning courses serve as the vital link between academic learning and real-world application. Within this framework, students actively participate in the Professional Practice course, equipping you with the necessary skills and confidence to secure your own field experience. Throughout this journey, a dedicated Career & Work-integrated Learning Advisor offers personalized guidance and support.
In semester 3, students immerse themselves in the Field Experience course, committing 280 hours of practical application within the field. Whether pursuing paid or unpaid opportunities, all experiences undergo approval by your Career & Work-Integrated Learning Advisor to ensure relevance.
