Humber’s Financial Planning graduate certificate program provides a clear pathway to careers in the lucrative personal financial services industry including banks, investment firms, insurance companies, financial planning firms among others.
Our program provides you with a broad range of personal financial services, business and soft skills plus the opportunity to earn the licences and designations that financial services institutions are looking for in the professionals they hire.
Faculty are chosen for their expertise and experience in the financial services sector, and many continue to work in the industry. They also have extensive post-secondary teaching experience.
Gain first-hand experience in the personal financial services industry with a 160-hour (minimum) which may be completed full time in the third semester. Field experiences provide the valuable work experience employers seek.

To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet all listed course requirements.
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or attended postsecondary studies, and will be 21 or older as of the first day of classes. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U/M level or equivalent.
An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber may use a combination of secondary school and/or college courses and grades to determine program eligibility.

Applicants must have an overall minimum grade point average (GPA) of 65 per cent in the program. Canadian citizens or permanent residents with international education are required to provide a credential evaluation. Note, for international High school education course by course evaluations, ICAS must be used. For international post-secondary education, a WES evaluation must be provided. In situations where you expect to apply for transfer credit, it is recommended that a course by course WES evaluation is completed.

Industry associations charge fees for access to the exams and the materials required to study for the exams. While alternate texts are available, it is highly recommended that students purchase these specific materials for those classes. Approximate total costs for these fees - $2,600. Students should consult the industry association websites (below) to determine the current costs for these fees.
