Health Sector Regulatory Compliance

Ontario Graduate Certificate

Program Code: HS511

Campus: Online

Length: 3 semesters

Embark on a fascinating learning adventure with Humber's Health Sector Regulatory Compliance graduate certificate. Health sector regulatory compliance refers to the adherence and conformance to the laws, regulations and guidelines set forth by federal and provincial governing bodies. It encompasses a set of guidelines and laws that the health sector, and product and service providers, must strictly follow to meet the highest quality and ensure patients' and consumers' safety. The program emphasizes the importance of various quality assurance tasks related to quality and safety.

This program equips learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure regulatory compliance. It also equips you with the essential knowledge and skills to audit product development, manufacturing and supply chain processes. Discover how to apply quality assurance knowledge to ensure operational compliance, align with regulations and standards, and minimize health and business risks.

Throughout the program, you'll focus on mastering core competencies essential for compliance staff covering a wide range of products and business processes. From pharmaceuticals and medical devices to natural health, agriculture, cosmetics and cannabis products, this certificate prepares you for a dynamic career.

The program spans three consecutive semesters, starting in September. Experience a flexible learning approach with synchronous online classes. The highlight of the program is a hands-on work placement in Semester 3 where you will have an opportunity to practise your skills and knowledge and learn on the job.

This program is not available to international applicants.

Following two academic semesters, students complete a three-month (450 hours) paid or unpaid in which students apply and integrate theoretical knowledge and skills into real-world work settings. Students complement their learning in their placement, and assessments are carried out by assigned supervisors at the placement site.

Humber’s dedicated faculty and work-integrated learning staff support students in preparing for and securing field experience. Humber has strong relationships with industry partners such as those in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, natural health and food products, cosmetics, and cannabis to support students in finding opportunities. While all these supports are in place, learners are strongly encouraged to search on their own and network to help ensure that they successfully secure and complete the field experience component of the program.
