Business Administration

Advanced Diploma

Program Code: 02511

Campus: North

Length: 6 semesters

Humber’s Business Administration advanced diploma program allows you to develop extensive knowledge on how businesses work and teaches you to become competent in the full range of skills needed to facilitate business operations.

Courses in operations management, accounting, finance, human resources management, strategic management, marketing research and much more will give you the opportunity to cultivate key business skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork, project management, systems thinking, data analysis (MS Excel skills - basic and advanced) skills and strategic business analysis.

The program is built on a common platform of a solid business education – principles of management, marketing, business law, finance mathematics and microeconomics. This common platform is shared with other Business Diploma courses such as those in Business Management, Business Marketing and Business Accounting programs.

There are limited spaces for students to mix with their academic learning in alternating semesters through an optional co-operative education placement. This optional co-operative education program is structured to include one to two optional co-operative education placements between academic terms. Participation in the optional co-operative education may extend the diploma's completion time by one to three semesters. The program provides students with real-world, program-related work experience and can help you decide what kind of job you want, enable you to pay for your college education and increase your chances of getting a highly desirable job (with a higher salary) as a graduate. Optional co-operative education placement opportunities are not guaranteed, as the job placement opportunities are competitive. Applications to the optional co-operative education placements are accepted only from students in Semester 2.

Students not selected for optional co-operative education placements will complete the standard 84-hour course in their final semester. Students find a placement with support from the business placement advisor who maintains a roster of placement opportunities and provides students with direction and assistance in the development of resumés and job search techniques.
