From the smallest condo to the largest industrial waste management facility, plumbing is a vital aspect of infrastructure in buildings, neighbourhoods and cities. With your specialized training acquired through our progressive, hands-on program, you’ll be ready to embark on a lucrative career in the plumbing industry, installing, maintaining and inspecting fresh water and sewage management systems.
Through three levels of theoretical and practical in-shop training, students learn all of the fundamentals of working with plumbing including codes and regulations, proper materials and usage, and water distribution systems. Employment opportunities also exist in related aspects of the plumbing industry such as system design, inspections or the plumbing material wholesale sector.

Current students, please make sure to review your MyHumber Academic Progress report to confirm which courses you should register into for your Winter semester. Courses with in-person requirements will likely also have online components. Humber may need to change plans for in-person learning, subject to government and public health directives and/or additional health and safety considerations.
Applicants must meet all the requirements below in order to meet minimum program eligibility. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an offer of admission. Admission decisions will be available via MyHumber, or by email and mail. Admission decisions will not be released by phone.
This apprenticeship is regulated by the Ontario College of Trades. You and your employer are required to register through your local Apprenticeship Branch Office of the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD).
You will be scheduled for the in-school portion of training by MLTSD. Apprentices who have been scheduled for the in-school training will be sent an Offer of Classroom Training letter from the MLTSD. For more information, visit ontario.ca/page/start-apprenticeship.

An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet program eligibility.
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or attended postsecondary studies, and will be 21 or older as of the first day of classes. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U/M level or equivalent.
An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber may use a combination of secondary school and/or college courses and grades to determine program eligibility.

Applicants must have an overall minimum grade point average (GPA) of 65 per cent in the program. $50 - lab fee. There may also be additional fees for personal protective equipment (PPE) and equipment that is required and utilized within the lab.
