Nursing is a dynamic profession that plays a key role in advocating for healthy public policy and shaping the health-care system. As individuals and as a collective, nurses ensure clients across settings and specialties receive quality and equitable health care. In this collaborative program between Humber College and the University of New Brunswick (UNB), all four years of this undergraduate degree take place at Humber in Toronto. Graduates of the program will receive a Bachelor of Nursing degree from UNB.
Your UNB-Bachelor of Nursing degree will allow you to apply for provincial, national and international employment opportunities as practitioners, educators and managers in numerous health-care settings including:
- community/public health agencies
- hospitals
- long-term care facilities
- primary health-care or acute-care settings
- rehabilitation services
- clinics
- private practices
Humber is the only English speaking college in Ontario with access to an on-campus cadaver lab for nursing students. Combine that with small class sizes, simulation labs, bioscience and anatomy labs, and clinical work placement opportunities -- Humber students have the competitive edge.
Students receive practical experience through clinical placements at health-related agencies across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Starting in the second semester, and in each subsequent year, these placements provide students the opportunity to integrate nursing skills and knowledge in a supervised setting. Clinical experiences will be diverse, covering a broad range of settings including community agencies, schools, long-term care facilities and hospitals. Humber has relationships with several community agencies and makes every eort to assist you to develop, establish and maintain the required standards for academic success.
