Humber’s General Arts and Science – University Transfer certificate program is a foundational program that will provide you with the academic skills you need to achieve your goal of completing degree-level studies at Humber and earn transfer credits along the way. In addition, it will help you to take the next step along your educational path by allowing you to:
Our program will help you open the doors to diploma and degree programs at Humber College or other institutions such as the University of Guelph-Humber, York University or Bishop’s University. We will support you along the way through our focus on academic advising, smaller classes and engaged professors. The program provides the perfect environment for you to learn about your choices and possibilities as you move on to further postsecondary studies.
You may choose to apply to a degree program after completing your certificate or you can open more doors for yourself and earn even more transfer credits by continuing your studies in the General Arts and Science – University Transfer diploma program.
This program is not available to international applicants.
Applicants must meet all the requirements below in order to meet minimum program eligibility. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an offer of admission. Admission decisions will be available via MyHumber, or by email and mail. Admission decisions will not be released by phone.

Post-admission testing in writing and basic mathematics is required. Applicants may be counselled into an alternative choice based on test results. While the General Arts and Science programs have been designed to prepare students to enter a major course of study in their chosen area, a General Arts and Science certificate or diploma is neither a guarantee, nor a requirement, for entry into subsequent programs at Humber or elsewhere.
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet all listed course requirements.
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or attended postsecondary studies, and will be 21 or older as of the first day of classes. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U/M level or equivalent.
An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber may use a combination of secondary school and/or college courses and grades to determine program eligibility.

Applicants must have an overall minimum grade point average (GPA) of 65 per cent in the program. Applicants are required to disclose and provide academic transcripts for all course work completed at the postsecondary level.

Canadian citizens or permanent residents with international education are required to provide a credential evaluation. Note, for international High school education course by course evaluations, ICAS must be used. For international post-secondary education, a WES evaluation must be provided. In situations where you expect to apply for transfer credit, it is recommended that a course by course WES evaluation is completed.
