Humber is proud of its collaboration with the University of New Brunswick (UNB) - both institutions having long-standing traditions of excellence in nursing education in Canada. As a UNB-Humber nursing student, you will receive all your undergraduate degree education at Humber in Toronto. Graduates will receive a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of New Brunswick.
The Bachelor of Nursing – Second Entry Preparation program offers students a pathway into the nursing profession; with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 in a minimum of 60 credit hours of university courses. Following the completion of a preparation semester, the Bachelor of Nursing – Second Entry Preparation program allows students to complete the curriculum in two years.
Our curriculum focuses on the various roles nurses can have in community/public health, primary health care, long-term care and acute settings. Our class sizes of 35 to 40 students in our theory and science courses provide students with both individual and group learning opportunities. In our simulation labs, students practise and improve their interpersonal and technical nursing skills in a safe and active learning enviroment.
Admission to the Bachelor of Nursing – Second Entry program is a two-step process:
*Note however, that students who possess all of the preparatory courses at the university level from prior education and a minimum of 74 percent in each, may be admitted directly into the Bachelor of Nursing - Second Entry program.
Humber is the only English speaking college in Ontario with access to an on-campus cadaver lab for nursing students. Combine that with small class sizes, leading-edge simulation labs, bioscience and anatomy labs, and extensive clinical work placement opportunities -- Humber students have the competitive edge.
This program is not available to international applicants.
Selection: Admission selection is based on the academic criteria indicated. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission.
