Humber’s Hospitality and Tourism Operations Management graduate certificate program is your fast-track entry into one of the world’s most dynamic industries. Gain the skills needed for success in an exciting career in tourism and hospitality management both in Canada and internationally.
The program covers key areas of the tourism industry from human resources to strategic business planning. The curriculum brings the industry into the classroom and connects the student with the industry through guest speakers, field trips and industry engagement.

Your eight-week work placement will provide you with the vital hands-on experience that is highly valued by employers. Gain valuable work-related experience needed for you to embark upon an exciting career in the hospitality and tourism industries. Our internship co-ordinators provide support in securing your work placement. During the placement, you will receive hands-on experience, network with industry professionals while working under their experienced direction, while allowing you to showcase your skills and knowledge, all under the guidance of dedicated faculty support. Placements provide the opportunity for employers to evaluate students’ performance.
Applicants must meet all the requirements below in order to meet minimum program eligibility. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an offer of admission. Admission decisions will be available via MyHumber, or by email and mail. Admission decisions will not be released by phone.
To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet all listed course requirements.
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or attended postsecondary studies, and will be 21 or older as of the first day of classes. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U/M level or equivalent.
An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber may use a combination of secondary school and/or college courses and grades to determine program eligibility.

Applicants must have an overall minimum grade point average (GPA) of 65 per cent in the program. Applicants are required to disclose and provide academic transcripts for all course work completed at the postsecondary level.

Canadian citizens or permanent residents with international education are required to provide a credential evaluation. Note, for international High school education course by course evaluations, ICAS must be used. For international post-secondary education, a WES evaluation must be provided. In situations where you expect to apply for transfer credit, it is recommended that a course by course WES evaluation is completed.
