Humber’s Hospitality - Event Management diploma program offers you the knowledge, practical experience, industry exposure and professional certification necessary to embark on an exciting and successful career as an event management professional.

In the first semester of the program, you get immediate experience working at several events across the GTA. For the next two years, you will be thoroughly immersed in the world of event management through learning and practicing all areas of this growing area of business. Your experience will include not just classroom and practical hands on experience but also opportunities to network with and meet industry leaders, volunteer at events for further hands on learning and career readiness training so that you can land your dream job. Essential skills are taught to prepare students to work in all sectors within the event industry: weddings and social events, conventions/conferences, tradeshows, fundraising, festivals, sporting and entertainment events.
Work experience is integral to developing a diverse and successful career in the event management profession. In this program, you will participate in a comprehensive placement experience (280 hours) in your final semester. While on the placement, you will apply the knowledge and skills you have learned in the classroom to real event work in the field, network, and develop professional connections and relationships you will carry with you throughout your career.

An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet all listed course requirements.
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or attended postsecondary studies, and will be 21 or older as of the first day of classes. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U/M level or equivalent.
An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber may use a combination of secondary school and/or college courses and grades to determine program eligibility.

Canadian citizens or permanent residents with international education are required to provide a credential evaluation. Note, for international High school education course by course evaluations, ICAS must be used. For international post-secondary education, a WES evaluation must be provided. In situations where you expect to apply for transfer credit, it is recommended that a course by course WES evaluation is completed.
