Across industries, there is a growing demand for professionals capable of producing film and media content tailored to multiplatform delivery. Students of our program graduate with the skills necessary to enter the film and television production industry or become independent media producers capable of immersive and interactive output in a variety of emerging digital media. From advertising agencies to postsecondary institutions to news media companies and beyond, graduates have a world of opportunities open to them, with positions including:
Our program combines online and in-class training to give graduates the skills to create compelling films, documentaries, interactive videos, virtual/augmented reality experiences and innovative transmedia projects. Through team-based and individual projects and a work placement, you will develop strong interpersonal, intercultural, networking and presentation skills while learning how to adapt to the ever-evolving technological landscape of multiplatform storytelling using traditional and emerging media forms.
This program includes a work placement component to give students an opportunity to gain valuable practical experience or mentorship in their area of interest in the creative industries. The 160 hour placement is done in the summer semester after two semesters of study and practice.

Courses with in-person requirements will likely also have online components. Applicants must meet all the requirements below in order to meet minimum program eligibility. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an offer of admission. Admission decisions will be available via MyHumber, or by email and mail. Admission decisions will not be released by phone.
To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet program eligibility.
An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or attended postsecondary studies, and will be 21 or older as of the first day of classes. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U/M level or equivalent.
An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber may use a combination of secondary school and/or college courses and grades to determine program eligibility.
