There are limitless career opportunities for individuals with strong skills in planning, designing and building websites and applications. Graduates of our program have found employment with a large variety of companies domestically and abroad including web and interactive agencies, development studios and as in-house web professionals. Potential roles include:

  • backend development
  • front-end development
  • UI/UX design
  • web design and maintenance (freelance or in-house)

With our program, you will learn how to build sites and apps from the ground up using the most up-to-date techniques and fundamental technologies. You will graduate with an impressive portfolio of professional-level work to show prospective employers or clients, while ample networking opportunities with industry professionals will give you invaluable contacts as you begin your career.

This program is not eligible for Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). It is eligible for Second Career Funding. Further details and how to apply are found at ontario.ca/page/second-career.

Courses

Current students, please make sure to review your MyHumber Academic Progress report to confirm which courses you should register into for your Fall semester. Courses with in-person requirements will likely also have online components. Humber may need to change plans for in-person learning, subject to government and public health directives and/or additional health and safety considerations.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet all the requirements below in order to meet minimum program eligibility. Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an offer of admission. Admission decisions will be available via MyHumber, or by email and mail. Admission decisions will not be released by phone.

Admission selection is based on the following 3 requirements:

    Academic

    To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:

    • Experience or education in a related background, i.e., digital media design, computer programming, graphic design would be an asset
    • Interest and enthusiasm for today’s newest technologies and strong computer literacy
    • Basic knowledge of hand-coded HTML is recommended
    • Prior digital graphic design or a familiarity with graphics editing software would be an asset

    Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee admission.

    Mature Applicants

    Diplomas and Certificates

    An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet program eligibility.

    Degrees

    An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or attended postsecondary studies, and will be 21 or older as of the first day of classes. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U/M level or equivalent.

    College Transfer Applicants

    Diplomas and Certificates

    An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber may use a combination of secondary school and/or college courses and grades to determine program eligibility.

    Degrees

    An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber may use a combination of secondary school and/or college courses and grades to determine program eligibility. Applicants must have an overall minimum grade point average (GPA) of 65 per cent in the program. Applicants are required to disclose and provide academic transcripts for all course work completed at the postsecondary level.

    University Transfer Applicants
