Course 4: Facilitated Review Session (FRS)

In Course 4 Facilitated Review Sessions (FRS), learners, under the guidance of a program facilitator, will spend 12-hours covering complex topics from Course 4 eLearning modules. The Course 4 FRS will provide enhanced learning opportunities beyond the e-learning material to support learner success. Learners will apply knowledge and skills gained from the eLearning portion of the program and engage in enhanced discussions relating to Commercial Real Estate Transactions.

Topics include, but are not limited to, capital cost allowance, retail restrictions and zoning restrictions, and farmland leasing and quotas.

FRS are an excellent opportunity for those seeking additional program facilitator support and is available as a non-mandatory component to Course 4.

Session 1

In this Facilitated Review Session, we will be addressing some of the more complex and often confusing concepts of the following modules:

  • Module 1: Introducing Commercial Real Estate
  • Module 4: Preparing to Sell Office and Retail Properties
  • Module 5: Preparing to Sell Commercial Condominiums
  • Module 6: Identifying Requirements for Industrial Properties.

We will review capital cost allowance and third-party professionals, easements and restrictive covenants, valuation, and sale and leaseback.

Session 2

In this Facilitated Review Session, we will be addressing some of the more complex and often confusing concepts of the following modules:
  • Module 9: Completing Agreements of Purchase and Sale for Office and Retail Properties
  • Module 10: Completing Agreements of Purchase and Sale for Commercial Condominiums
  • Module 11: Completing Agreements of Purchase and Sale for Industrial Properties.   
We will review due diligence, retail restrictions and zoning restrictions, offer mathematics and signing.

Session 3

In this Facilitated Review Session, we will be addressing some of the more complex and often confusing concepts of the following modules:
  • Module 12: Preparing to Lease Office, Retail, and Industrial Properties
  • Module 13: Transactions Involving Commercial Leasing   
We will review the commercial tenancies act, types of leases and rent, rentable vs usable area, and leasing scenarios.

Session 4

In this Facilitated Review Session, we will be addressing some of the more complex and often confusing concepts of the following modules:
  • Module 14: Transactions Involving Development Land and Farms
  • Module 15: Transactions Involving Brokering the Sale of a Business
We will review farmland leasing and quotas, as well as the sale of a business.
