Student Wellness and Accessibility Centre (SWAC)

Peer-Led Wellness Groups will be running weekly throughout the Fall 2021. Join Humber Wellness Coaching students as they explore different wellness topics, strategies, and resources to help you improve your own well-being. Each session will include an opportunity to connect with your peers about the topic being discussed. 

Attend and you could win:

  • Attend two Peer-Led Wellness Groups and you will be eligible to receive a $10.00 gift card from your choice of Walmart, Amazon, or Skip the Dishes.
  • Each Peer-Led Wellness Group that you attend, your name will be entered into a draw for a chance to win our end of semester grand-prize. More information to be announced.

Peer-Led Wellness Groups are hosted by Humber College Post-Graduate students enrolled in the Wellness Coaching Program in partnership with IGNITE and Student Wellness & Equitable Learning.

Thursday November 18 | 11:00 - 11:40PM | Compassion | Want to deepen your connection with your inner-self, community, and the world? Join us as we explore how to develop self-compassion as well as compassion for others. We will discuss how to express feelings and gratitude as well as how to connect with needs and requests through the NVC communication model.

Monday November 22 | 4:00 - 4:40PM | Stress Management | Have you been feeling stressed? Stress can be defined as the brain's response to a situation or demand. Any kind of change that causes us to have to make adjustments can cause stress. Come to this session where we will be discussing stress and exploring ways that you can manage stress.

Thursday December 2 | 1:00 - 1:40PM | Resilience | Are you looking for the skills to get through tough times? Do you want to learn how to better manage your thoughts, actions, and life? Resilience is a skill that can be learned and cultivated. Join us to learn about strategies to help you to make small, sustainable changes to your daily routine that will have a BIG impact on your ability to be resilient.

Tuesday December 7 | 1:00 - 1:40PM | Growth Mindset | Do you want to harness the power of "not yet"? Attend our Growth Mindset session and learn how to shift out of a "fixed" mindset and explore a new way of thinking.
