Student Appreciation Award - Award Categories
Award Categories
There are three award categories and they include: the Student Appreciation Awards, the Volunteer of the Year Award and the Judy Harvey Student Spirit Award. Please read the award descriptions and nominate accordingly. Recipients can only be selected based on the informaiton provided in the nomination form so please ensure that the information submitted truly conveys how the nominee, group or club goes above and beyond and why they are a deserving candidate.
STUDENT APPRECIATION AWARD
The Student Appreciation Award recognizes individuals who contribute to the quality of student life and the Humber community. Nominees can be students in good academic standing, faculty, support staff and administrators who demonstrate selfless dedication and excellence in areas such as:
- Social or Cultural Events
- Athletic Achievement
- Special Events
- Peer Mentoring/Support
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes students who have volunteered their time (minimum 30 hours) in a leadership role on campus that contributes positively to the student experience. Nominees will be those who have demonstrated a significant impact on students in respect to involvement, engagement or success along with commitment that is truly above and beyond expectations of the role.
JUDY HARVEY STUDENT SPIRIT AWARD
The Judy Harvey Student Spirit Award recognizes a group of students (three or more) who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and contribution to student development and success in their respective departments or in the Humber community. The Student Services Spirit award was established in 2000 by Judy Harvey, Dean of Student Services and after her retirement in 2009 the award was renamed in her honour.
