Philip Burge PhD, RSW is a faculty member (Social Service Worker and Addictions and Mental Health programs). His areas of specialty include generating ideas for differentiated assessment approaches, promoting interprofessional education opportunities across programs, and designing service learning abroad trips. He has authored over 20 journal articles and is able to assist with the conceptualization of research projects and writing up research results.
Gina is part of Digital Learning and collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to create beautiful, engaging, and accessible online courses at Humber College. She can help you with questions related to creative and inclusive solutions in teaching and learning, using Universal Design and Accessibility principles. In addition to accessibility training, Gina can support you in creating accessible documents and materials and offer solutions to your accessibility needs.
Nicole’s focus during her secondment is primarily centered on online teaching and learning. She developed the Teaching in a Digital World certificate, and currently teaches all three of these courses. She provides support for faculty and staff who are teaching online and facilitates workshops on how to do so effectively.
Rocio is an Educational Technology Specialist and she is passionate about finding and implementing easy-to-use, robust and creative technology tools to support learning, collaboration, innovative projects, formative assessment, and reflection. She can show you how to use many useful educational mobile apps, support you with implementation, and help you navigate and teach with the technology in the HIVES and in Humber’s new Flexible, Collaborative Learning Spaces.
Senay works on the SoTL research team as a Research Administrator and oversees all data tracked in the CTL. His expertise includes research statistics, survey design, focus group and interview facilitation, data visualization, data management, and a variety of computer software and platforms including: Microsoft Excel, SPSS, NVivo, Survey Monkey, Piktochart, and Canva. He can assist with all of the above as well as provide one-on-one consultations on topics relating to qualitative and quantitative methodology/analysis.

Ranya is a faculty development advisor. She is responsible for supporting Humber's instructional staff in the creation and implementation of effective teaching, learning and assessment strategies. She also provides consultation and support at the individual and program levels for instructional and curriculum development.
Heidi oversees the Professional Learning, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and Humber Press teams. She can help you with questions related to innovating in your teaching practice, conducting research in your classroom, publishing papers in scholarly journals, and teaching in Humber’s new flexible, collaborative learning spaces and the HIVES.
Susan Murray is a full-time professor in the Faculty of Media and Creative Arts. She teaches Documentary Filmmaking and Production Management, and supervises capstone projects in the Bachelor of Film and Media Production Program. Her interests include Experiential Learning, International Learning, Part-time faculty support, and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion in Media.
Laura is our Teaching and Learning Specialist, which means she is here to support instructors – especially part-time, partial-load, and sessional faculty members - during all stages of the teaching process, from lesson planning, to inclusive course design, to engaging students, to ideas for assessment. Laura is a cognitive psychologist, so she also loves talking about the science of learning and the brain, and how to help students learn and study most effectively.
Panopto Support Team
Humber’s Panopto Support Team is happy to assist faculty and staff in navigating Humber’s new video streaming platform.
Darren oversees the Creative Productions team. He can help you make beautiful and engaging digital content for your courses, including animated videos, Lightboard videos, and even live action videos! He can also help you navigate our new video streaming service, Panopto.
Donna and her team of tech wizards wield their magic at the Instructional Support Studios to solve all kinds of technology challenges that faculty bring their way. Although most of their work involves troubleshooting, educating, and generally saving the day in Blackboard, Donna also helps faculty up their edtech game and increase their teaching effectiveness.
Mike Wells is a faculty member and program coordinator in the Department of English. Mike is available to offer advice and support with ed-tech tools (especially Blackboard and Panopto), strategies for synchronous and asynchronous online activities, scaffolding assignments (especially through remote learning), and teaching students how to become digitally fluent (digital fluency is one of the Humber learning outcomes).
Siobhan administers the Teaching Innovation Fund – a comprehensive support package for faculty to engage in research related to questions about teaching and learning. Siobhan can field questions about research ideas, funding options, and anything else related to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
