TORONTO, ONTARIO – Much like a golfer honing their game on the driving range, cyber security experts also rely on a range to perfect their game – a cyber range.
As part of the EC-Council Academic Partner Program, professional learners currently studying cyber security at Humber will benefit from access to cyber ranges, designation exams and professional development opportunities. Humber faculty and graduates will also be able to enhance their skills in one of the largest cyber ranges available for educational purposes.
Humber's professional learning students will also have access to the Certified Ethical Hacker program offered by EC-Council at a discounted rate.
EC-Council's sole purpose is to build and refine the cybersecurity profession globally. At the core of its mission is helping organizations, educators, governments, and individuals address global workforce problems by developing and curating world-class cybersecurity education programs and certifications while also providing cybersecurity services to some of the largest businesses around the world.
"The partnership with the EC-Council builds upon Humber's strategy of Continuous Professional Learning, in which we provide learners with short, skills-based options for life-long learning," said Rani Dhaliwal, senior vice-president of Transformation & Strategic Partnerships. "The opportunities presented by this partnership will help to reshape all of our cyber-security offerings. Access to the EC-Council's cyber ranges, annual 'hackathons' and, most importantly, expedited routes toward the certified ethical hacker designation will have an immediate and positive impact on our students." Additional benefits of the partnership include:
- Discounted access to designation exams
- Two hackathon events per year for learners, sponsored by EC-Council
- Complimentary faculty certification scholarship for individuals seeking an EC-Council designation
- Admission to the annual Hacker Halted events and the Global CyberLympics events for learners and faculty
"We are very excited to welcome Humber College to our Academia Partner community," said Wesley Alvarez, director of Academics at EC-Council. "We look forward to working closely to expand professional learning opportunities in key cybersecurity areas that local employers are seeking. We are excited to bring tactical learning experiences, certifications such as CEH, and new cyber range technologies to the Toronto region to support the local community. Humber College is committed to transforming as the demand and skills gap for these roles continues to increase."
