Humber Polytechnic has maintained its status as a great place to work after once again being named as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2025.

The awards, which are the benchmark in the GTA for workplace best-practices, are distributed each year based on several criteria including workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time-off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

“At Humber, we embrace a culture that champions individuality, creativity and impact,” said Ann Marie Vaughan, president and CEO of Humber Polytechnic. “By staying true to our values of courage, innovation, equity, sustainability, and health and well-being, we continue to lead post-secondary education into the future. This recognition reflects the collaborative efforts of our students, faculty, staff, and partners who make Humber an inspiring place to work and learn. Together, we are building a brighter future through innovation and meaningful action on critical societal challenges.”

Over the past 12 months, Humber has achieved several important milestones that reinforced its commitment to training career-ready citizens, providing inclusive education and creating a thriving and healthy community. These have contributed to both the success and satisfaction of the Humber community including students, employees and partners.

Some of the initiatives include:

• Humber had both the highest Employer Satisfaction rate (96.6 per cent) and the highest Graduate Employment rate (83.6 per cent) of all colleges in the Greater Toronto Area according to Colleges Ontario’s annual key performance indicators.

• Humber was recognized for its leadership in sustainability, equity and well-being as it remained the highest-ranking institution in the Associate category according to the Sustainable Campus Index that’s put out annually by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. As well, Humber last submitted a Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System report in 2023 when it scored higher than ever before with 79 points out of 100 for a gold ranking. In 2019, Humber scored 71.

• Humber launched a People(s) and Culture Management and Governance survey in partnership with McLean & Company to identify strengths, improvement opportunities and resource gaps. Insights from the survey will inform Humber’s People Plan and enhance services through actionable improvements and accountability measures. Ongoing effort in this area is critical to Humber’s ability to build towards the vision laid out in Building Brilliance: Our Vision to 2030 and Beyond.

As part of Building Brilliance: Our Vision to 2030 and Beyond, Humber is reimagining education. Guided by this vision, Humber is reshaping learning, forging strong partnerships, and creating lasting value that will drive impact in our communities.
