Cheerful faces, proud families, faculty members and an auditorium packed with excitement. Humber celebrated the first three Spring 2019 Convocation ceremonies at the Toronto Congress Centre today.
Graduates of the School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism, crossed the stage at 10 a.m. while the School of Social & Community Services graduates celebrated their accomplishments at the 3 p.m. ceremony.
Families of the graduates flew from many other countries to Canada to become a part of the ceremony. “I am feeling so proud to graduate from Humber and enjoy my convocation with my friends and with my teachers,” says Sukhmeen Kaur, a graduate of Food and Nutrition Management.
Along with the graduates, Chef Jason Parsons, also received an honorary degree from the Humber. Parson is a well accomplished chef at the Peller Estates Winery kitchen and has experience working in the culinary industry for more than twenty years. When asked what his advice to students would be, Parsons says, “Whatever your biggest goal is, double it and then double it again. Dream big, just do it. Nothing is holding you back.”
The third ceremony will be held at 7p.m. As graduates from the School of Social & Community Services and School of Creative & Performing Arts graduate.
The new graduates join the network of more than 250,000 Humber alumni living and working across the country.
