Humber College continues to be a leader in polytechnic education as evidenced by Colleges Ontario’s annual key performance indicators (KPIs).
The KPIs for college graduates for 2022-2023 were released on February 28 and highlight graduation rates, graduates' satisfaction rates, the employment rates for graduates six months after graduation and employers' satisfaction rates.
Humber has both the highest Employer Satisfaction rate (96.6 per cent) and the highest Graduate Employment rate (83.6 per cent) of all colleges in the Greater Toronto Area.
That doesn’t surprise Neal Mohammed, who’s the director of the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation. Mohammed has spent more than 30 years with Humber and has held a variety of roles including as a professor and program coordinator.
He lauded Humber’s faculty members for their determination and dedication in preparing students to graduate with career-ready skill sets that allow them to step into their careers and excel.
“Our graduates are being set up for success thanks to the tremendous work of our faculty along with the world-class facilities that Humber offers,” said Mohammed. “The KPIs are a testament to the quality of a Humber education and how we’re producing career-ready students with the skills needed to thrive. It certainly makes me proud to be a part of the Humber community.”
Mohammed has witnessed countless students experience successful work-integrated learning opportunities with Humber’s industry partners. Many have gone on to be hired by those companies upon graduating.
“They think highly of Humber graduates and are coming back to us to hire our graduates again and again. They expect foundational skill sets in our students and we are achieving that. Our industry partners are extremely complimentary of the work we do preparing our students,” he said.
Mohammed said Humber graduates can be found thriving in various sectors across the GTA, the province, the country and even internationally and that speaks to the value of a Humber education and the impressive reputation of Humber in the post-secondary sector.
