Students who complete a 2 year diploma at Humber will be granted 60 credit hours toward the completion of a bachelor degree program at Davenport University. You will need to complete a minimum of 60 credit hours (approximately two years of full-time attendance) to meet residency and program requirements and to complete your bachelor degree program. Students must complete a minimum total of 120 semester credit hours to earn a bachelor degree. The total credit hours will include the completed 2 year diploma classes plus any courses completed through Davenport University.

Graduates of any two-year diploma program at Humber Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, who have attained a cumulative grade point average of 70% or greater will be eligible to enter year three of the four-year Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John. 

Depending on the diploma program, students may be exempted from study in certain courses and therefore, requested to take alternate courses offered by the Faculty of Business.

Humber and Seneca Colleges have entered into an agreement that increases student opportunities for degree completion at both institutions.  Humber graduates may transfer into Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies with entry into Semester 4, Year 2 of the program.    

Admissions:

All applicants to Seneca degree programs are required to have successfully completed the related Humber program with a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (70%).

All applicants may apply through the Ontario College Application Service and must submit an official academic transcript for all course work completed at the postsecondary level.  The application must be received no later than the stated deadline for the given term being applied for in order to qualify for admission.

International students should demonstrate and must provide evidence that they have attained a level of English equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in writing. Alternative acceptable English Language qualifications can be found at: www.glos.ac.uk/study/international

Students will be expected to attend an Academic Induction preceding entry to the program. Students admitted to the UoG program will pay the appropriate annual tuition fee rate. The definitive fees will be those published here: http://www.glos.ac.uk/international

Students admitted to UoG from Humber will be eligible to receive the international bursary. This award, and its ruling terms and conditions, is subject to change on an annual basis. Master of Leadership and Public Administration (Centenary University)

Humber and Centenary University have entered into an agreement to facilitate the transfer of Humber graduates with appropriate prerequisite qualifications and grades for advanced standing into Centenary University.  

Graduates with a GPA of 3.0 or 75% may receive up to 6 credits towards the Masters of Leadership and Public Administration (MLPA) program.  Thirty-three (33) remaining credits may be required for program completion.  Final advanced standing granted to an applicant requires an assessment of transcripts and electives taken.

Humber applicants are required to submit the following to Centenary:

  • a completed application form (with essay where applicable) along with the application fee
  • official Humber transcript sent directly to Centenary from Humber
  • verification of high school graduation
  • Letter of Recommendation from a Humber Program Coordinator, specifying why the student is a good candidate for the program.

Consecutive Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) - Technological Education (York University)

Additional Notes

The consecutive BEd (Technological Education) Program at York University is open to Humber graduates who have successfully completed the Animation 3-D Advanced diploma. Consistent with all other BEd programs at York, the Technological Education option requires completion of 60 credits offered in two consecutive Fall/Winter sessions in addition to the requirements of the student’s program at the sending institution.

Individuals who successfully complete the Consecutive BEd (Technological Education) program and who have successfully completed an approved applied degree or advanced diploma and a minimum of 2 years (24 months) of work experience related to the areas of Technological Education selected as options in the program of professional education will be eligible for recommendation by York University to receive a Certificate of Qualification in Technological Education from the Ontario College of Teachers so they may teach Technological Education in an Ontario Secondary School. Agreement covers admission up to F/W 2021 session. Candidates must apply to York University.

Humber and Queen Margaret University (QMU) in Edinburgh have entered into an agreement that allows Humber graduates from both the Event Management, and Arts Administration and Cultural Management Graduate Certificates to receive advanced standing into QMU's MA Arts Festival and Cultural Management.  A previous undergraduate degree is required in order to be eligible for this pathway. 

Graduates will be awarded 40 credits of Recognition of Prior Learning and will need to complete 80 credits of taught modules plus the 60 credit dissertation or project.

  • sample comedy performance (a recording of a public stand up performance is acceptable)

  • evidence of critical engagement with contextual studies around comedy writing and performance - typically this would take the form of a standard academic essay, certified by Humber as being the work of the student

Humber and Centenary University have entered into an agreement to facilitate the transfer of Humber graduates with appropriate prerequisite qualifications and grades for advanced standing into Centenary University.  

Graduates with a GPA of B- or 80-82% in Humber's Film and Television Production Advanced Diploma may receive up to 64 credits towards the BA in Communication, Film Studies program.  Sixty-four (64) remaining credits may be required for program completion.  Final advanced standing granted to an applicant requires an assessment of transcripts and electives taken.

Humber College and the University of Gloucestershire (UoG) have entered into an agreement to facilitate transfer from Humber's Music Business graduate certificate program to UoG's MA in Creative Music Practice. Students from Humber who have successfully completed the graduate certificate in Music Business, in addition to completing a first degree (bachelors) or equivalent, will receive credit for two-thirds of the MA, leaving just the final dissertation module to be completed.

International students should demonstrate and must provide evidence that they have attained a level of English equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall. Alternative acceptable English Language qualifications can be found at: www.glos.ac.uk/study/international

  1. Successful completion of the Humber Ontario Graduate Certificate in (A) Music Composition, (B) Television Writing and Producing, (C) User Experience (UX) Design or any other Humber Ontario Graduate Certificate with a focus area related to creative practice, subject to the clauses below ;
  2. Successful evaluation of portfolio of work submitted by the student;
  3. Successful interview with Programme Coordinator to determine the availability of faculty expertise and supervision as well as appropriate facilities for the student’s focus area; and,
  4. Achievement of the NZQA minimum English proficiency standards for a degree program by completing any Ontario Graduate Certificate. 

To complete the EIT Master of Professional Creative Practice, graduates of the Humber Ontario Graduate Certificates listed above require 90 credits at NZQF Levels 8 and 9 with a minimum of 60 credits at NZQF Level 9.

The EIT Master of Professional Creative Practice is a semester-based program with two semesters per year; each semester consists of seventeen teaching weeks and a semester break.

All Humber graduates articulating through this pathway will be provided with academic guidance by the EIT Master of Professional Creative Practice Programme Coordinator in regards to EIT’s supervision capability at the time of student application.

Humber College and the University of Gloucestershire (UoG) have entered into an agreement to facilitate transfer from Humber's Theatre Arts – Performance Advanced Diploma program to the final year (Level 6) UoG's BA (Honours) Performing Arts.

International students should demonstrate and must provide evidence that they have attained a level of English equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in writing. Alternative acceptable English Language qualifications can be found at: www.glos.ac.uk/study/international

Students will be expected to attend an Academic Induction preceding entry to the program. Students admitted to the UoG program will pay the appropriate annual tuition fee rate. The definitive fees will be those published here: http://www.glos.ac.uk/international

Students admitted to UoG from Humber will be eligible to receive the international bursary. This award, and its ruling terms and conditions, is subject to change on an annual basis. For September 2020/January 2021 entry, the applicable bursary is £3,000, and will be automatically applied against tuition for successful applicants from Humber. Please note that the bursary is only available to students who are studying full-time at the UoG on campus in the UK, and completing a full degree (not available for distance learning or master's stage students).

Students must complete a minimum total of 120 semester credit hours to earn a bachelor degree. The total credit hours will include the completed 2 year diploma classes plus any courses completed through Davenport University.

  1. Successful completion of the Humber Ontario Graduate Certificate in (A) Music Composition, (B) Television Writing and Producing, (C) User Experience (UX) Design or any other Humber Ontario Graduate Certificate with a focus area related to creative practice, subject to the clauses below ;
  2. Successful evaluation of portfolio of work submitted by the student;
  3. Successful interview with Programme Coordinator to determine the availability of faculty expertise and supervision as well as appropriate facilities for the student’s focus area; and,
  4. Achievement of the NZQA minimum English proficiency standards for a degree program by completing any Ontario Graduate Certificate.
