Pathways to another Institution

Master of Health Science (Eastern Institute of Technology)

Additional Notes

Graduates of the Ontario Graduate Certificate from Humber College who meet the following criteria will be eligible to enter into the final 75 credits of the Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT) Master of Health Science (180 credits) in New Zealand:

  1. Successful completion of the Humber Ontario Graduate Certificate in (A) Exercise Science and Lifestyle Management, (B) Systems Navigator, or (C) Addictions and Mental Health;
  2. Successful completion of an approved research methods course from Humber; and,
  3. Achievement of the NZQA minimum English proficiency standards for a degree program by completing any Ontario Graduate Certificate.

To complete the EIT Master of Health Science, graduates of the Ontario Graduate Certificate require 75 credits at NZQF Levels 8 and 9 with a minimum of 45 credits at NZQF Level 9.

All Humber graduates articulating through this pathway will be provided with academic guidance by the EIT Master of Health Science Programme Coordinator in regards to EIT’s facility and supervision capability at the time of student application.

Graduates of the Ontario Graduate Certificate from Humber College who enroll at EIT will enroll as international students and will have the rights and obligations of international students.

Humber and Seneca Colleges have entered into an agreement that increases student opportunities for degree completion at both institutions.  Humber graduates may transfer into Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Community Mental Health with entry into Semester 5, Year 3 of the program.  Students must complete a summer bridge term and achieve a final grade of 2.5 or higher in each course in order to move into Semester 5.

Master of Criminal Justice Administration (Niagara University)

Humber students currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Social Science - Criminal Justice degree program can apply for the Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration program offered by Niagara University at the end of their third or Junior year (Semester 6).

At the start of their Senior or fourth year (Semester 7-8) provided qualifications for admission are met, students would be allowed dual admission into Niagara’s MSc in Criminal Justice Administration program.

Humber students accepted into the Masters program at Niagara University are allowed to take three designated courses at Humber which will give them nine (9) dual credits (i.e. satisfies and counts for both the undergraduate and graduate degree requirements.

Social Development Studies (SDS) at the University of Waterloo offers students a strong foundation for the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program. By taking a specialization in social work as part of the SDS degree, students will complete 10 social work pre-requisite courses. Students will earn a Bachelor of Arts degree and move seamlessly into the 10-month Bachelor of Social Work program.

The School of Social Work prepares students to participate in positive social change through the principles of justice, equity, and respect for diversity. In the BSW program students will take a total of 8 courses and complete a 720 hour practicum in a social service agency.
