The Institute of Technology, Tralee is a university-level college located in the South West of Ireland. It is located among some of the most spectacular scenery in Europe. We offer degree completion opportunities to Humber College graduates of Early Childhood Education, Computer Programmer and Analysis, Culinary Management, Cook Apprenticeship, Business Administration, Fitness and Health Promotion, and Massage Therapy. All our qualifications are internationally recognised and you get full credit recognition for your studies at Humber College. We eliminate all unnecessary obstacles on your pathway – you will have no bridging studies, no additional studies, and no one-year step back. With your Diploma from Humber College you will earn your degree in just two semesters at IT Tralee. With your Advanced Diploma, you will graduate with an honours degree in the same time. Our small class sizes, an excellent staff-student ratio, and an emphasis on learning through doing, lead to a dynamic learning environment. Our campus community of 3,500 students from over 30 countries offers a diverse mix of international cultures for you to experience. We offer Humber College students a special inclusive package representing a cost-effective investment in your career. This special package, costing €10,650, covers your tuition fees for the two semesters, your accommodation for the academic year, and we collect you at the airport on first arrival in Ireland. We arrange your accommodation in advance for your convenience. PLEASE NOTE: based on the recommendation of an international panel, IT Tralee is currently merging with our neighbours Cork IT, and together we are designated university status. As of January 2021 the new entity will be known as Munster Technological University (MTU). There are no implications for our current partnerships in this change, all existing agreements will continue and be automatically assumed by MTU in the legal Transfer of Undertakings.

Culinary Management (01911)

Graduates of Humber's Culinary Management Diploma program are eligible to enter Year 3 of the Bachelor of Arts (Ordinary) in Culinary Arts at the Institute of Technology Tralee in Ireland.  

Admission Requirement

To be eligible for consideration for entry, applicants must have achieved a minimum grade point average of 60% on graduation from the Humber program.

Cook Apprenticeship (06091)

Graduates of Humber's Cook Apprenticeship Certificate of Achievement with Professional Cook 3 (Red Seal) are eligible to enter Year 3 of the Bachelor of Arts (Ordinary) in Culinary Arts at the Institute of Technology Tralee in Ireland.  

Admission Requirement

To be eligible for consideration for entry, applicants must have achieved a minimum grade point average of 60% on graduation from the Humber program.

Early Childhood Education (07911)

Graduates of Humber's Early Childhood Education Diploma program are eligible to enter Year 3 of the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Care and Education at the Institute of Technology Tralee in Ireland.  Graduates of the BA in Early Childhood Care and Education, with a minimum grade average of 50% are then eligible to apply for entry to Year 4 of the BA (Honours) in Early Childhood Care and Education (one year add-on).

Admission Requirement

To be eligible for consideration for entry, applicants must have achieved a minimum grade point average of 60% on graduation from the Humber program.

Note:

  • As the first semester of Year 3 is work experience-based, students transferring from Humber must identify their preferred area of work experience (working with pre-school children or working with early-school years children) by June 1st of their intended year of registration.  IT Tralee will then organize the placement.
  • Garda (Police) clearance in the Republic of Ireland is necessary for registration on any stage of this program.  The student's application for clearance will be made on completion of registration with IT Tralee.  The college will guide the application.  Students should provide documentary evidence of Clearance from any other police authority where applicable.

Fitness and Health Promotion (10331)

Graduates of Humber's Fitness and Health Promotion Diploma program are eligible to enter Year 3 (Semester 5) of the Bachelor of Science in Coaching and Sports Performance at the Institute of Technology Tralee in Ireland.  Graduates of the B.Sc. in Coaching and Sports Performance, with a minimum grade average of 50% are then eligible to progress to Year 4 of the B.Sc. (Honours) in Coaching and Sports Performance.

Fitness and Health Promotion (10331)

Graduates of Humber's Fitness and Health Promotion Diploma program are eligible to enter Year 3 (Semester 5) of the Bachelor of Science in Health and Leisure (General Stream) at the Institute of Technology Tralee in Ireland.  Graduates of the B.Sc. in Health and Leisure, with a minimum grade average of 50%, are then eligible to progress to Year 4 of the B.Sc. (Honours) in Health and Leisure in their chosen stream - Athletic Performance, Health and Wellbeing, or Sports Development.

Massage Therapy (14201)

Graduates of Humber's Massage Therapy Advanced Diploma program are eligible to enter Year 4 of the Bachelor of Science in Health and Leisure (with Massage) at the Institute of Technology Tralee in Ireland.  Students will complete this program in two semesters.
