Photography (PH211)

Photography Diploma students will be granted a block of 51 credits towards the 120 required for an undergraduate honours degree, when admitted to programs at York University. Therefore, transferring students will be required to complete a minimum of 69 credits to receive their BFA degree. Students must earn a minimum 120 credits to complete an Honours degree at York University. Transferring students must meet all the degree requirements while completing these credits to be able to graduate from York University. Depending on course waivers and the degree program chosen, students may be required be complete more than 120 credits to graduate. 

Admission Requirement

  1. Students must have graduated in the past 3 years with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B)
  2. Applicants must attend an entrance portfolio review conducted by a faculty member of the Department of Visual Art and Art History and be deemed successful

Theatre Arts - Performance (04881)

Graduates of Humber's Theatre Arts-Performance program may transfer to York University's Specialized Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Acting program.  Graduates will be granted a block of 60 credits towards the 120 required. Transferring students will be required to complete a minimum of 60 credits to receive their BFA degree.

The block transfer of 60 credits is specific to the completion of the requirements for the Specialialized Honours BFA Theatre-Acting.  Studio classes in acting and devised theatre are not open to transferring students.

Admission Requirement

Students must have graduated:

  1. in the past 3 years from Humber's Theatre Arts-Performance porogram.
  2. with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B).

Students must attend an interview conducted by a faculty member of the Department of Theatre and be deemed successful, to be admitted to the BFA Honours program.

General Arts and Science - University Transfer (Diploma) (09111)

Students of Humber's General Arts and Science diploma program may be considered for admission to York University to be enrolled in degree programs.  Students may apply to take up to 12 credits worth of York University courses while they pursue their GAS Diploma at Humber.  

Graduates of the GAS diploma will be granted a total block of 45 transfer credits when entering any Bachelor level program at York University.  It is important to note that depending on the electives chosen in the GAS program and the desired program at York, a student may need to complete more than the minimum of 75 credits for a total of 120  credits to graduate from York in order to meet requirements.  

Graduates of the GAS diploma that have taken York courses while completing their Humber program may earn up to 57 credits before registering full time at York.

Admission Requirement

To be eligible to enrol in York Univeristy courses during GAS studies, the student must have completed all 1st and 2nd semester courses of the program and have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 (B or 70%).  Students having completed all 1st semester courses with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and enrolled in required 2nd semester courses of the GAS program may be conditionally admitted to York.  

Students must also meet any additional program or degree specific admission requirements to be considered for admission to York.

Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees (PH111)

Graduates of Humber's Pre-Health Sciences Pathways to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees may be considered for admission to York University to be enrolled in any Bachelor degree program. 

Graduates will be granted a total block of 18 transfer credits when entering any Bachelor level program at York University and will be deemed to have satisfied entrance pre-requisites.  It is important to note that depending on the electives chosen in the Pre-Health Sciences certificate program, and the desired program at York University, a student may need to complete more than the minimum of 102 credits for a total of 120 credits to graduate from York.

Admission Requirement

Applicants must have graduated with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (B or 70%) and have met any additional program or degree specific admission requirements.  Note:  Some programs may require a higher GPA.

The consecutive Bachelor of Education (Technological Education) Program at York University is open to Humber graduates who have successfully completed the Animation 3-D Advanced diploma. Consistent with all other BEd programs at York, the Technological Education option requires completion of 60 credits offered in two consecutive Fall/Winter sessions in addition to the requirements of the student’s program at the sending institution.

Individuals who successfully complete the Consecutive BEd (Technological Education) program and who have successfully completed an approved applied degree or advanced diploma and a minimum of 2 years (24 months) of work experience related to the areas of Technological Education selected as options in the program of professional education will be eligible for recommendation by York University to receive a Certificate of Qualification in Technological Education from the Ontario College of Teachers so they may teach Technological Education in an Ontario Secondary School. Agreement covers admission up to F/W 2021 session.
