Jason Seright, Vice President, Inclusion & Belonging
Jason was appointed as Humber’s inaugural Vice-President of Inclusion and Belonging in April of 2023. In this role, Jason focuses on the continued implementation of Humber’s EDI framework, the braiding of Indigenous ways of being, knowing, and doing into curricula, teaching practices, and operational and decision-making approaches, and fostering a culture of sustainability. Prior to this role, Jason was Humber’s Dean of Indigenous Education and Engagement where he helped enhance Indigenous programming, methodology, research, practice, delivery, and community engagement.
Jason has more than 25 years of experience in Indigenous education in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia, with a focus on increasing Indigenous student enrolment and completion. Prior to Saskatchewan Polytechnic, he was a facilitator-consultant on First Nations Métis education with the Mamawohkamatowin partnership, a collaboration between Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools, Saskatoon Tribal Council and Central Urban Métis Federation. Jason has held a variety of leadership positions, including Maskwacis Outreach School principal, Central Okanagan School District principal and Ermineskin Elementary Junior School principal.
Jason holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Calgary. He began his studies at the University of Saskatchewan, where he graduated with a bachelor of education, including minors in native studies and Indian and northern education. Jason is Metis of Cree and Dene ancestry and is originally from Northern Saskatchewan, Buffalo Narrows and Ile a Lacrosse.
Indigenous Education & Engagement
Indigenous Education & Engagement works in partnership with regional Indigenous communities to ensure Indigenous students are supported and connected to their learning environment- academically, culturally and socially. IE&E assists Indigenous students in making the transition and adjustment to the challenges of college life while creating an awareness and appreciation of Indigenous culture and history in the greater campus community.
Office of Sustainability
Humber’s Sustainability team leads the college’s commitment to providing national leadership in developing sustainable campuses. As a hub for campus engagement and information, the team fosters a culture of sustainability through building operations and development, interacting with the physical environment and communities around us, and in embedding a sustainability mindset into teaching and learning.

The Office of EDIB aims to consistently foster a learning/working and living environment where every student can thrive by engaging with the wider Humber community to further develop sustainable inclusive working, learning and living environments based on EDIB principles and to empower students/employees to consistently advocate for the human rights, dignity and success for all.
