Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV), also known as International Transgender Day of Visibility, is celebrated annually on March 31st. American trans activist Rachel Crandall founded the holiday in 2009 as a way to celebrate the lives of trans people all over the world, and raise awareness of transphobia and discrimination. Crandall felt that the transgender community needed a positive holiday, as the only time you would hear about trans people was on Trans Day of Remembrance, a day of mourning for the lives lost to transphobia.

We are celebrating TDOV this year with a Clothing Swap. We want to provide a space for trans and gender diverse folks to exchange clothes. Some trans folks do not have access to clothes that they feel matches their gender expression: this event is intended to create the opportunity to do so.

LGBTQ+ Resource Centres at North (E140) will be accepting clothing donations up until Wednesday, March 28th.  

Anyone is welcome to donate any clothes that are in good condition, but the clothing swap itself is for trans and gender diverse folks.

The Clothing Swap will be held on Wednesday, March 28th at the North LGBTQ+ Resource Centre (E140), 12-2PM.
